In 1986, Kathleen Allan moved herself and the 100 animals of her animal sanctuary to the isolated island of Inchkeith. Dogs, cats, chickens, donkeys, goats, geese, sheep, a pig and a pony all called the island their home. Over the five years that Kathleen lived there, she was the subject of public and media attention, attending to visitors both welcome and unwelcome.
Through newspaper archives, interviews and explorations of the island, we pieced together the story of her time there.
